Ardent Microservices Released by NITAAC Showcase

Ardent’s Common Microservices Initializer (CMI) reduced annual software development and maintenance costs by as much as $250M a year for one federal agency

(December 8, 2020 – Arlington, VA) – The National Institutes of Health Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center (NITAAC) Solutions Showcase highlights innovative information technology (IT) solutions delivered by contract holders on the Chief Information Officer – Solutions and Partners 3 (CIO-SP3) Small Business Government-Wide Acquisition Contract.  NITAAC chose Ardent’s CMI solution because many government agencies are looking for microservices as part of their digital transformation.

“We are thrilled that NITAAC invited Ardent to showcase our solution for a DHS client, illustrating how DHS leverages CIO-SP3 Small Business contract holders to achieve digital transformation success,” said Brandon LaBonte, CEO of Ardent. “CMI exemplifies the innovative digital transformation services Ardent repeatedly delivers to our clients, melding technology and human ingenuity into solutions that matter for the mission.”

Ardent recently developed a solution for a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) component that needed to deliver services and applications more quickly and at a lower cost without compromising quality.  The company expanded on a microservices architecture concept to create the Microservices framework named Common Microservices Initializer (CMI).  CMI helps build microservices, each running in its independently deployable process. CMI also favors decentralized data management by having its entity for data connectivity and removing the complexity of data connection and references.

“Ardent’s CMI combines all the best practices from service security — inbuilt unit testing, streamed line deployment and fully integrated DevSecOps – creating one unique solution for generating, deploying and making microservices operational,” said Pawan Gyanwali, Vice President of Digital Transformation at Ardent.  “Furthermore, the CMI is another proof point that the many best practices in the US Digital Services Digital Playbook result in better software development.”
