Ardent announces new partnership with Langston University

Ardent, a leading-edge technology firm with principal offices in Arlington, VA and Tulsa, OK is excited to announce a new partnership with Langston University a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) located in Langston, Oklahoma and the only HBCU in the state.  Langston University opened in 1897 with only 41 students and has since grown to approximately 3,000 students on three unique campuses providing a robust education that prepares students for leadership in various careers.

Langston and Ardent’s partnership will focus on three critical areas for opportunities and development for university students.  These include Career Development, Curriculum, and Internship Opportunities, positioning Langston students for lucrative careers in information technology.

In the area of career development Ardent will provide current job details to students who are within a program which align with the leading-edge technology in Ardent’s expertise they provide to the Government, these three core capabilities include Digital Transformation, Location Intelligence, and Data Science and Analytics.  We will also provide development coaching services during Langston’s professional development weeks that include resume writing support, mock interview and enhancement interviews skills mentoring.  Ardent will support students in their job search by providing tips and tricks and notify students of real and current jobs available that align with the student’s field of study.

The second area Ardent is supporting Langston includes their curriculum.  Ardent will seek curricula-based partnerships that align student knowledge and skillsets with Ardent’s three core capabilities.  As part of Langston University’s committee processes around courses and curricula, Katherine Virdi, Chief Operating Officer at Ardent will serve and provide industry-based counsel on courses, curricula, and strategic initiatives. Ardent is also committed to seeking opportunities for Langston University faculty and staff collaboration on research projects or public-private partnerships, as well as training hosted by Ardent.

Finally, Ardent will offer internship opportunities to Langston University students in areas which further support their degree program that will help to improve employment opportunity post-graduation.  Ardent will assist students in providing opportunities to improve the technical skills required including training on how to build presentations, gaining working knowledge in their area of study, learning appropriate professional interaction, obtaining business knowledge, building appropriate interpersonal skills, and establishing a network of contacts.
