Agile Software Development

Design and structure strengthen the value.

ArdentMC’s Agile+ approach to Software Development provides a high-energy, highly-flexible framework to support client projects in the Federal government.  As one of a only a handful of firms that has successfully introduced agile in to Federal agencies, ArdentMC understands the need involve the client in every aspect of the development cycle.  Only through this involvement, are development teams able to develop solutions that can be responsive to the changing mission needs of an organization.

Agile+ represents enhancements to the Agile process designed to clearly facilitate the adoption and use of Agile within existing Software Engineering Lifecycles established through Federal policy and statue.  Through a respect for the artifacts, combined with the flexibility to maneuver, results delivered for end-clients meet and exceed expectations.

ArdentMC Agile+ Approach

Rapid Development
The Agile+ method utilized by ArdentMC leverages the strongest aspects of Agile software development to ensure client software deliverables are produced at the fastest pace possible.  Ensuring development cycles are kept to two-week sprints ensures clients receive near-immediate feedback on their requirements.  This feedback drives the process further, resulting in more satisfied clients, and solutions that more accurately reflect current needs.

Enterprise Architecture Aligned
Through an adaptation of Agile to the Federal Enterprise Architecture standards, ArdentMC helps ensure key decision points are provided with the artifacts necessary to support software investment activities.   This model provides government program managers with the information they need to defend decisions and respond to investment reviews.   Developing software with Federal tax dollars requires that even an agile method maintain strong accountability.

Increased Flexibility
The Agile software development process is inherently flexible.  Its short-cycle development sprints assure that changes in direction both at the tactical and strategic level can be handled with the least amount of rework.  This flexibility reduces risk to our clients in evolving mission environments, such as those they are experienced in emergency management, homeland security, and defense.

Agile+ provides all of these benefits for Federal agencies, while maintaining all the benefits familiar to high performance development teams.  Operating from our Maui, HI office, ArdentMC Agile teams work in small groups, focused on discreet components, managed with industry-leading agile/XP tools.  ArdentMC believes in Agile, and through Agile+, has successfully mapped Agile to the needs of the Federal government.
