The Department of Homeland Security's Geospatial Management Office (GMO) helps craft geospatial policies and procedures that support the broad mission of the numerous components within the agency. ArdentMC supports the GMO with a direct contract to manage and support the implementation of a Geospatial Information Infrastructure (GII). The GII is a collection of capabilities and technologies refined to support the broadest mission space possible within the department.

Responsibilities:
The Sr. Consultant will be responsible for managing a wide variety of daily activities associated with the successful stand-up and operation of the GII. The Sr. Consultant will assist in the migration of the unclassified GII to an accredited DHS Datacenter, and will also assist in the design, planning and implementation of a classified instance of the GII to support agency classified operations.

The successful candidate for the Sr. Consultant position required an in-depth knowledge of Geospatial Programs which will be combined with overall consulting expertise and engagement management. The Sr. Consultant, by virtue of the position within our organization, will also have responsibility for client interaction, business development, and deliverable management.

Qualifications:

    Specific duties and skills associated with the Sr. Consultant include:

Overview:
Provide Department of Homeland Security clients with innovative GIS and system integration solutions utilizing Web 2.0 architectures. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to utilize skills developing technical solutions to issues such as GPS-based asset tracking, geo-processing analytics, mapping capabilities, compartmentalized security constructs, and systems integration.

Responsibilities:
The successful GIS Developer will be responsible for the design, coding and implementation of software systems in support of the Department of Homeland Security's Infrastructure Protection Requirements. Development activities and responsibilities include:

Qualifications:
Desired Skills:

  • 6+ Years of full lifecycle software development experience.
  • Strong understanding of Web 2.0 architectures including AJAX based user interface constructs
  • Web Services implementations and invocations via protocols/techniques including SOAP and REST
  • Experience operating within modern relational database environments including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle
  • Ability to learn new techniques/technologies and quickly apply them in practice
  • Demonstrated proficiency in understanding written system specifications along with the ability to code software based on such specifications
  • Ability to read and understand software code developed by other developers

    Position: Geospatial Analyst

    ArdentMC is a leader in the design, implementation and development of sustainable information technology programs supporting national security initiatives in the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, and Department of Justice. ArdentMC also retains commercial customers and education institutions providing capabilities in areas of software development, data management, and systems integration.

    Project overview:
    ArdentMC is seeking a qualified GIS Analyst with experience utilizing ESRI-based tools to support the Department of Homeland Security’s National Operations Center. The National Operations Center has a requirement for geospatial analysts to support basic map product creation in response to domestic and international events.

    Project duration:
    Three Year project shifts to be filled to support a 24x7 operation

    (1) Senior Geospatial Analyst needed

    Clearance required:
    TS required
    TS SCI clearance preferred

    Skills, Responsibilities and or duties:
    ArdentMC is seeking a qualified GIS Analyst with experience utilizing ESRI-based tools to support the Department of Homeland Security’s National Operations Center. The ideal candidate will have existing experience creating maps, applying basic cartography, and utilizing integrating data with mapping tools in support of geospatial production generation. Excellent verbal / written communication skills to support briefings to DHS Senior Management. Emergency management, military, or law enforcement experience is helpful.

    Years Experience:
    Ten years required, DHS Experience Highly preferred

    Bachelors Degree (Mandatory)

    (2) Junior Geospatial Analysts needed

    Position: Sr. Consultant

    ArdentMC Business Process Practice is seeking an experienced Senior Consulant to be immediately responsible for Task Management on an active Consulting Engagement with a Fortune 500 Company. A well-rounded candidate will be considered for the position and should possess 4-8 years of consulting experience and a business degree (master's degree optional).

    The Senior Consultant manages daily activity on the engagement and is responsible for the quality of deliverables produced. Experience guiding system implementations for document management, financial, program management, and ERP systems a plus. Candidates should also maintain strong cost accounting and financial analysis backgrounds for cost/benefit analysis and also an understanding of process improvement methodologies for deveoping process flow diagrams and policies and procedures.     Sr. JAVA/GIS Developer

    Ardent Management Consulting is seeking strongly motivated and qualified Sr. GIS and Java Software Engineer to support a national security related program within the Department of Homeland Security. Position will consist of working within a team environment to develop ESRI based software solutions focused on geospatial situational awareness coupled with web services/services oriented architecture and data integration. Development efforts include linking mission systems both within and external to the Department of Homeland Security to provide a common operating picture (COP) allowing rapid, real-time situational awareness and information sharing. Candidate must possess an outstanding work ethic coupled with the ability to work well with others in a team environment. Candidate must be a proactive self starter able to deliver on deadlines and interact with clients and other developers on a daily basis.     Position: Sr. Technical Architect/Systems Integrator

    Well connected and growing Management Consulting Firm based in Chantilly VA seeking strongly motivated and qualified Senior IT Consultant to provide Senior Technical Architect and Technical Integration Oversight Services to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

    • Provide guidance and design consulting to the Department of Homeland Security client to ensure development activities follow published technical standards. Where no standards exist, evaluate the state of the art, and advise on a course of action best ensuring future compatibility and ease of integration.
    • Work with the DHS CIO’s office, as well as the Directorate CIO’s office to ensure activities are consistent and compliant with the Enterprise Architecture initiatives and determinations established for the department.
    • Participate as the client’s representative in working groups, change control boards, and other meetings representing client interests across the whole of the department.
    • Provide subject matter expertise in the implementation of IT systems determining courses of action that best facilitates a cohesive IT infrastructure that permits information sharing, data exchange, and efficient operations.
    • Provide management, mentoring and oversight to other technical members of the team on this assignment. Report directly to the engagement manager.
    • Provide briefing to division and department management, up to and including the Secretary of Homeland Security. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Candidate will interact with client on a daily basis to provide consulting services with regards to system implementation. Candidate will also interact with other contractor teams to ensure compliance and compatibility of undertaken efforts. Candidate will also interface directly with senior DHS management and customers providing guidance and support of systems implementation efforts.

    Position Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a discipline, ideally related to the management of information systems.
    • Six years relevant experience in the information technology field . Experience with large scale data integration and SOA preferred
