HUBZone - Historically Underutilized Business Zone

ArdentMC is a HUBZone concern certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA) in 2010. As a HUBZone concern, ArdentMC provides Federal Contracting opportunities to Historically Underutilized Business Zones, thus allowing federal dollars to benefit geographic areas that are underutilized.

The HUBZone program also provides a mechanism that Federal Government employees can use to more easily acquire services (i.e. HUBZone set-asides and HUBZone Sole-source procurements). This page provides general information on the ArdentMC’s participation in the SBA HUBZone program.

In March of 2010, the US Court of Appeals issued a ruling indicating that contracting specialists were required to provide HUBZone companies with the first opportunity to satisfy a requirement, before an acquisition could be made an 8a, SDVOB or general small business set-aside. This ruling was based on the court’s interpretation of the statute. ArdentMC has put together these web pages to help contracting officers meet their small business HUBZone goals, and to help them ensure compliance with the US Court of Appeals Ruling.
