Michael Matechak joined ArdentMC as a Director in October of 2006. With diverse experience delivering business consulting solutions to over 200 organizations within the Federal Government, Aerospace & Defense, Information Technology, Health Care, and Construction Services, Michael supports multiple ArdentMC practice areas.
Prior to joining the ArdentMC team, Michael was the Director of Program Management for the Circle Line Companies in New York, NY. Michael directed the Program Management Office including all marketing, business support operations, and call centers for five separate business units. These Programs included the Statue of Liberty Contract, Circle Line Harbor Cruises, LLC sightseeing subsidiary, contract lease vessel for Titan Marine in Tampa, FL, start-up business LaGuardia Airport Ferry Service, and on-line Reservation Center/Merchandising Webstore. Total operations combined for over $40M in revenue for FY 2005. In preparation for the reopening of the interior of the Statue of Liberty in 2004, Michael led the development and implementation of a time-phased reservation system and supporting call center for interior statue tours with US Park Police, National Park Service Rangers, NYPD, and other government contractors.
Before Circle Line, Michael was a Senior Manager in the Government Contracts Consulting practice of Navigant Consulting, formerly Arthur Andersen Government Contracts Group. His practice entailed advising clients on assuring government contract regulatory compliance while implementing process changes to cost accounting, program management, risk management and enterprise workflow information systems. Federal clients included risk management systems for FAA and Department of the Army. Michael also supported a variety of contract matters ranging from litigation support, response to DCAA audits, indirect cost rate analysis, REAs/claims, terminations, and compliance with FAR, CAS, and TINA.
Michael earned his BS from Washington and Lee University and was a 4-year letter winner on the Men’s Soccer Team. He has been an instructor for the National Contract Management Association (NCMA), Project Management Institute (PMI), and Federal Publications. NCMA asked Michael to develop a Risk Management Chapter for its National Education Symposium: Service Contracts Integrated Approach. Michael and his wife, Kelly, live in South Riding, VA with their son Stephen.
